Welcome to the 2017 SeasonUpdated Friday February 17, 2017 by Golden Heart Softball Association.
Welcome to the 2017 season for the Golden Heart Softball Association. We are excited for the upcoming season as we prepare to deploy several enhancements to make your experience with GHSA more enjoyable. We'll be letting you know from time to time through email, so make sure your email is current and that our email address has been added to your safe sender list.
A few new changes have happened since last season, most noticably in the Coed C/Comp divisions. During the annual reclassification meeting, it was decided that there will be a splitting of Coed C and Coed Comp. The new divisions are now Coed A (formerly Coed Comp), Coed B (classified as the more competitive Coed C teams [note: all teams in this division were Coed C teams from the 2016 season), and Coed C. Each division will have their own state tournament (locations to be decided soon). All three divisions will play under the Coed C division in GHSA. Run spotting will be in effect during league games (Coed A will spot a Coed C team 8 runs, Coed A will spot a Coed B team 4 runs, and Coed B will spot a Coed C team 4 runs).
Also new this season is a new pick-up rule. Teams will now be able to pick up unlimited players to fill their roster to be able to play (within reason). More information about the new pickup rules can be found here.
At the annual league meeting in September, three new board members were appointed to open at-large seats. These new members, as well as the rest of the board members, can be found here.
Registration for teams, coaches and players is now open, so get registered now! The new season begins May 1st (barring any weather setbacks). See you all out on the fields!
